Organ concert at the Lutheran Home
January 30th, 2012
On January 29, the Lutheran Home hosted a full house, first class, organ concert event to benefit Faith Community Homes – an agency that provides support and mentoring for families working toward financial independence and stability.
Many other churches and religious institutions of the Arlington Heights area support the work of Faith Community Homes, so the Lutheran Home was happy and proud to host the event and hold a small reception as part of our ministry within the community.
“It was a rocking performance with a rocking attendance,” said Reverend Larry Rockemann, Vice President of Pastoral Services and Lutheran Home Chaplain.
“The music was outstanding, provided by six organists from the Arlington Heights area, including our own talented Director of Music, Rick Steffen,” said Reverend Rockemann. “It was a remarkable opportunity for the many Arlington Heights folks who have never been to the Lutheran Home to come. People were pleasantly surprised to see such a beautifully-appointed Chapel for worship and prayer, and see how we actively engage the gift of music and the arts in our ministry/mission of ‘empowering vibrant, grace-filled living across all generations.’”
