St. Pauls House gets an invitation to the Chicago Symphony Chorus
March 17th, 2012
St. Pauls House was honored to be invited to attend a final rehearsal of the Chicago Symphony and Chorus on March 14. The program featured Cherubini’s Requiem in C Minor and Schicksalslied, Op.54, and Shoenberg’s Kol Nidre Op. 39.
Four residents and two staff members attended the rehearsal free of charge. The Conductor of the Chicago Symphony, Riccardo Muti, opened the rehearsal to provide seniors and others who might not otherwise be able to attend with a unique opportunity.
Since the performance was over the dinner hour, St. Pauls House dining services provided a light snack prior to leaving, and sack dinners for the bus ride home.
It was a wonderful evening – it literally moved one of the residents to tears during the opening piece.
