Holy Week at Wittenberg Village
April 11th, 2012
As a Christian-based organization, Lutheran Life Communities brings the celebration of Easter to each resident and family member who wishes to participate. Wittenberg Village provided many opportunities for residents to celebrate the life of Christ, give thanks for His many sacrifices, and to learn more about Easter.
Holy Week at Wittenberg Village included services on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. There were also Easter Eggs coloring and craft activities during the week, as well as an Easter Sunday brunch.
Easter Sunday concluded Holy Week with a record number of attendees,102. Even Pastor Cory Wielert’s, Chaplain at Wittenberg Village, three children participated in the services by handing out bulletins, transporting residents in wheelchairs and blowing out candles to conclude the service.
