Cherished Place is a unique adult day club that offers therapeutic activities and individualized services in a group setting for older adults with a variety of care needs.

Cherished Place Programs and Life Enrichment Activities

Members enjoy a wide variety of social, recreational, intellectual and spiritual activities designed to provide success and purpose to each day under the direction of a professional, licensed staff. Club members are encouraged to participate in programs specially tailored to their abilities and interests.

Who are Cherished Place Club Members?

Primarily, club members are individuals in need of caregiver support. This typically includes individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, as well as individuals with other chronic illnesses requiring an increase of care.

How does a caregiver benefit from Cherished Place Adult Day Services?

Cherished Place provides opportunities for caregivers to take a much-needed break from the worries and stresses of constant care giving.

Transportation

Safe transportation is provided to and from all activities and programs.

Cherished Place is fully staffed with Professional Licensed Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.

Vicki Schloman, Director of Cherished Place
Vicki has been employed with Lutheran Life Communities for nearly 30 years, and has been the Director of Cherished Place since 2011. She is an Advisory Council Member with the Illinois Department on Aging’s Community Care Program and also serves as a council member for Senior Living Associates of Elgin.
Kelly Lynn Vanderwiel, Nurse Team Leader
While working as a Patient Care Technician at Northwest Community Hospital in their Cardiac Surveillance unit, Kelly fell in love with nursing. She received her LPN in 2008 at Harper College and is presently working toward her RN.

New Club Member Referral Program

Cherished Place families have always been the most important voice in sharing the program’s excellence, we are now offering a referral program incentive. If you refer a new club member who commits to a three to five-day-a-week membership, you will receive $100 off your next month’s membership payments.

Support Groups

Cherished Place supports club members and family members by providing support group programs. Groups meet the second Monday of every month at our West Dundee location from 2:00 pm to 4:30 p.m., or at the Arlington Heights location on the second Thursday of every month at 1:00 pm. Care givers are invited to bring their loved ones to our adult day program for free while support groups are in session.
