In 1936 Pleasant View Luther College closed its doors. The love for Pleasant View, coupled with a need in the community to find a way to serve the elderly in a Christian environment, brought about the establishment in 1937 of Pleasant View Luther Home. At that time there were 11 residents.
In 1961, a nursing unit opened caring for 65 residents.
In 1975, Town Homes for independent living created a whole new dimension for the facility with the addition of 10 duplex apartments known as Luther Place.
In 1977, a Health Center was added to the location allowing us to invite an additional 150 residents to occupy Pleasant View.
In 1995, Luther Estates, independent living units were added to the campus. This along with the Luther Place units provided a total of 34, two-bedroom apartments in 17 duplexes.
For 70-plus years, Pleasant View's has served residents and their families with the highest level of skilled care, privacy, respect, and dignity in a homelike, Christian atmosphere. We provide quality intermediate health care and beautiful independent living options.
