The Bird Aviary has brightened the spirits of many residents, family members, visitors and staff throughout the years.
Winter is the time when the aviary is enjoyed the most. To walk past it on the way to the elevators or dining hall, and hear the birds talking to one another with their chirps and songs, is one of the most soothing sounds there is. How wonderful it is to see their bright colors flitting about during a time when most everything we see outside is covered in snow or lying dormant waiting for spring. Enjoying the wonders of nature indoors reminds us that the gloomy, dreary weather outside will, in its time, turn to sunshine and warmth and the birds in nature will once again sing a song to the Lord!
