Cherished Place
on the campus of Lutheran Home & Services
Cherished Place is the perfect setting for men and women who are experiencing memory loss or other dementias, but who would benefit from a warm and caring environment with others. Cherished Place is a club-like program where members enjoy respect, spiritual support, socialization, recreation, exercise, music, intergenerational programming, memory enhancing activities and scheduled outings to carefully chosen destinations.
Open Monday through Friday, Cherished Place also provides members with a delightful midday meal, and other snacks throughout the day. In addition, experienced staff is available to provide other appropriate services to meet members’ particular personal care needs.
Connections on the campus of Lutheran Home & Services
The Connections day program is designed to provide a place where older adults who may have physical, functional or medical conditions that may require supervision or attention during the day are able to stay “connected” through socialization and fulfilling activities. Members of Connections are mentally and socially able to engage in meaningful activities and relationships with both peers and staff. Also open Monday through Friday, the Connections Adult Day Service program offers a midday meal and snacks, as well as access to a wide range of professional health care services, including a Wellness Clinic, a podiatrist, rehabilitation therapies and the SeniorFITness™ program.
Cherished Place in Elgin
Cherished Place in Elgin offers the same quality and variety of programming and staff support as is available on the Arlington Heights campus. The program at this location is adapted to serve the needs of individuals with memory loss, as well as those men and women who may benefit from physical or medical support.
The Elgin location also provides services for its members Monday through Friday. A midday meal and nutritious snacks are also served each day. Appropriate personal care assistance is provided to members as determined by their customized plan of care.
