My thanks to all the Staff at Cherished Place comes from deep within my heart. My prayers were answered when I found Cherished Place for my dear husband and for me.
Our Gerontologist told me in the summer of 2007 that I would need to send my husband to daycare for my sake and his. He said that I would not be able to last the Alzheimer’s journey if I were not to get a respite from being his sole caregiver.
A dear person told me about Cherished Place just a few weeks later. Talk about “God sent moments in our lives”. After taking the tour of Cherished Place, I was convinced that I had found the best daycare that could minister to my husband’s needs with a loving attitude, and for each and everyone there. My husband, being a bit anxious at first, found his niche among “new friends”, and has even taken a liking to singing for them – bringing joy for them and him.
Meanwhile, I am getting the much-needed respite the doctor ordered while I know that my dear husband is busy enjoying wonderfully planned activities throughout the days he spends there. Morning prayers are ever-so-meaningful for my husband, as are the visits from the nearby pastor.
The annual dinner celebrated in the Cherished Place dining room is an awesome gathering of all the guests and their families. All of the professionals of Cherished Place were on hand to make it a most memorable evening of sharing a super delicious dinner and fun.
Debra and her team are ever so caring, ministering to all the guests with a generous and heartfelt being. I trust them fully with the well-being of my dear husband during the twice weekly time he spends at Cherished Place, which as of next week, will be three times weekly.
My dear husband looks forward to each morning when it is his day to be with his Cherished friends again. Lunch time is special too, as all the members gather for nutritious and delicious food.
Each time I have come to visit Cherished Place, I find myself totally at ease for having made the right decision for my husband’s sake and mine.
My heart is filled with love and gratitude for Debra and all who comprise the staff of Cherished Place – where our loved ones are truly cherished.
